Surround movies

I have been watching technology trends for many years and have been waiting for the day VR (virtual reality) becomes more than just a laughable gimmick from Johnny Mnemonic. They are now coming out with films made considering the complete environment around them. This means you can move your head around and see the world in full 360 during a movie. The potential for this is huge, but what are the pitfalls. Does this experience become the next shift to stimulus overload? Does our demand for constant flow of data and images become insatiable?
