Stop Motion Music Video-Brendan

This quick video and the behind the scenes helps to reiterate what it means to be innovative. Sometimes its painful and other times its amazing, but either way its a process of self discovery and learning. Watching the video before reading about how it was made or watching the behind the scenes I try to figure it out by myself to help tune my brain into learning effects or tricks that might be done on screen that don’t necessarily have how to guides or some methodology that can be easily learned.

  1. I love that sometimes innovation isn’t necessarily opting for the “latest tech”, even though I’m sure they’re using a stellar camera. The tangibility of the pins and string are so inviting and captivating. You could replicate that with a computer but it wouldn’t have the same depth.

What captivates me about the Miyazaki films is they are mostly still very stubbornly hand-animated. According to him, this keeps the dreams and illusion alive.
