Warm up Exercise: Monster Mash

Who doesn’t love drawing monsters but the fun part is that you don’t get to draw it by yourself. Two partners are going to be part of this creative process, but you’re going to do it one part at a time and independent of one another.

Each of individuals starts out with a blank piece of paper and will be responsible for doing the head, the torso or legs. Line the pages up vertically and put small tick marks at the areas that they cross to define where the neck will end and where the torso and legs will match up. Before you put down the pen, remember: No rules—whatever kind of monster you want. When you all get done, line the pages back up and see what you have got!
