I’m interested in knowing what a good art teaching portfolio comprises. I’ve found a few resources online that seem helpful, but I’d really appreciate more guidance on what to do as a GTA to build this portfolio before graduating.
Here are the resources I’ve looked through:
- Preparing a Professional Teaching Portfolio for an Art Teaching Position: http://scholarscompass.vcu.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1004&context=arte_pubs (This seems geared toward K-12 applicants.)
- What Is Evidence of Teaching Excellence?: http://theprofessorisin.com/2011/09/23/1610/
- Components of a Teaching Portfolio: http://bokcenter.harvard.edu/components-teaching-portfolio
- Preparing the Teaching Portfolio: http://www.brown.edu/about/administration/sheridan-center/sites/brown.edu.about.administration.sheridan-center/files/uploads/TeachingPortfolio.pdf
What advice have you received? What are you doing in your classes to gather info and examples for this, if you plan to pursue a teaching position after you graduate?
